[Industry News] 2019 Semiconductor Factory Ranking: Intel Wins the Title, Huawei Hisilicon has the Highest Growth

IC insights, a Research Institute, points out that this year, Samsung will be dragged down by the poor memory market, and Intel is expected to regain the position of the world's first largest semiconductor supplier. In addition, excluding TSMC, Huawei Hisilicon will rank 15th, with an annual increase of 24% and the highest growth rate tied with Sony.

According to the survey, Intel, Samsung, TSMC, SK Hynix and Meguiar are estimated to be the top five semiconductor suppliers and large needing of printed circuit board assembly in the world this year, while botom, Qualcomm, Teyi, Toshiba and Huida are the 6th to 10th suppliers. The 10th to 15th places are Sony, Italian French semiconductor, Infineon, NXP and MediaTek.

It is worth noting that among the top 15 companies, only TSMC (1%), Sony (24%) and MediaTek (1%) are showing positive growth in the year. Among them, Sony's main beneficiary image sensor (CMOS) sales are strong and its annual growth performance is the best. Overall, it is expected that the sales of the top 15 semiconductor companies in 2019 will be 15% lower than last year, another 2% lower than the estimated 13% decline of the global semiconductor industry. IC insights further analyzed that the memory market is likely to decline by 34% this year, among which, Samsung, SK Hynix and Meguiar's three original factories all declined by more than 29%, with SK Hynix the largest decline, with an estimated annual performance decrease of 38%. Under the weak performance of Samsung, Intel is expected  to become the largest semiconductor supplier again, with annual sales estimated to be 26% higher than that of Samsung.
